Aime Guy Charpentier, 90, of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, passed away on April 29, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Aime was born on July 14, 1932, to Eugene and Maria Charpentier of Leominster, Massachusetts. He married his high school sweetheart Elaine Fletcher on June 13, 1953. They were married for 69 years and had six children together. Upon graduating from St Bernard’s High School, Aime enlisted in the Navy and became a Chief Petty Officer. After leaving the service, he trained at East Coast Aerotech and became a licensed aircraft mechanic. He then began a long career with IBM until retirement. One of his greatest joys in life was skiing with family and friends. He raised his family on Hickory Hills Lake and enjoyed all aspects of lake life.
Aime was predeceased by his wife Elaine Charpentier, son Peter Charpentier, his parents and brother Father Paul Charpentier. He leaves his children Denise Charpentier and husband Roger of Penfield, New York, Cathy MacEwen and husband Garry of Westminster, Massachusetts, Paul Charpentier and his partner Victoria Landgraf of New Zealand, Susan Chabot and husband Guy of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Thomas Charpentier and wife Nina of Lunenburg, Massachusetts. He is also much missed by his seven grandchildren Michael Ciccone, Joshua Chabot, Zachary Chabot, Matthew Charpentier, Danielle Charpentier, Samuel Charpentier, and Alexander Charpentier.
A funeral mass will be held in honor of Aime Charpentier at Saint Boniface Church, 817 Massachusetts Avenue, Lunenburg on Friday, May 5 at 10 AM with burial to follow at North Cemetery, Holman St. Lunenburg. A memorial lunch for family and friends will follow at the Bailey’s Bar & Grille, 18 Main Street, Townsend, MA 01469.
