Alfred Iannaccone, known to most as Fred, was not only spirited and witty but also had a sense of humor that could light up a room. Born in Fitchburg, MA on October 20, 1947, Fred found joy in the simple things, his grandchildren and Sunday dinners. Fred's love for his family was as timeless as his jokes, which, got funnier the more you heard them. He was a man of many hats, but his favorites were those of a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In his career as an auto body mechanic, Fred was a wizard with a wrench. He was known to turn rust buckets into road-worthy chariots, and he did it all with a smile. Upon retirement, he exchanged his wrenches for toys, devoting much of his time to his grandsons and granddaughter. From teaching them the ins and outs of a good prank to sharing stories of his past, Fred was the epitome of a fun-loving Papa.
Fred's love story with his wife of 53 years, Rebecca, was his crowning achievement. Their laughter and shared sense of humor were the foundations of their family, including their children, Alfred Iannaccone, Lee Iannaccone-Cofsky along with her husband Curtis Hrycaj and the known favorite child, their beloved daughter, Catherine Iannaccone. Their grandchildren, Brady Cofsky, Benjamin Cofsky, and Lillian Iannaccone, will always remember their Papa's funny faces, hearty laughter and devotion. He was preceded in death by his mother, Filippa Iannaccone (Anzalone), and his father, Alfred Iannaccone.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Edward The Confessor Church, 10 Church Street Westminster, MA on May 24th at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery Fitchburg, MA.
