Angelo Joseph DelleChiaie joined his previously deceased wife and love of his life of almost 70 years, Theresa (DuPlease) DelleChiaie, late Wednesday evening with family. Angelo, a lifelong Leominster resident, had recently celebrated his 95th birthday.

Like many others at the time, Angelo left Leominster High School before graduation to volunteer and serve his country in support of WWII efforts. He served as a Petty Officer 3rd class in the United States Navy until 1946 on the USS Cutty Hunk Island. He was later awarded his high school diploma in 1999 at Leominster City Hall with other WWII veterans.

After returning from the service, he opened Angelo’s Barbershop, a fixture in downtown Leominster next door to The Little Kitchen, and later Fini’s Shoe Store.

Together with his wife, Angelo owned and operated A&D Real Estate on Central Street in Leominster for many years. During his career, Angelo was recognized as part of the “Million Dollar Club,” awarded by the Mass Association of Realtors for having sold real estate valued in excess of one million dollars during the year. As a result of his success in real estate, Angelo was able to retire at 59 years old.

Angelo and Terry dedicated their lives to building and raising a family at their home on Pleasant Street. They welcomed generations of family members and friends at their Sunday dinner table, spent summers seaside with their family at Seabrook Beach, enjoyed late-night excursions to Foxwoods Casino and took annual trips to Las Vegas. Together they lived a full life dedicated to their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He leaves behind his three children; daughter, Patti and husband Richard LeBranti of West Peabody; son Steven DelleChiaie of Leominster; daughter Jane and husband Fred Fortier of Holden. He adored his grandchildren; Jason DelleChiaie and wife Crystal, Dani DelleChiaie, Tracey DelleChiaie and significant other Sean, Lindsey Wheeler and husband Gregory, Christine Pawlikowski and husband John, and Tyler DiMauro and significant other Malisa; and great grandchildren; Brayan, Natalia, Andrew, Nicholas, Lou, Leah, and Toni. He also leaves behind his niece, Carleen Mammone; and other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Oakdale Rehabilitation in West Boylston for their loving care of Angelo for the past few months. They would also like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Health Alliance Hospital & Hospice Team.
