Calling hours are Sunday, Aug. 29 from 2-5 p.m. at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Arcade’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 Jonathan Roberge Memorial Fund in care of Avidia Bank, 470 Lancaster St., Leominster, MA 01453.



Arcade C. Richard, 94, of Leominster died at home on August 26 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in St. Paul, NB Canada of parents Antoine and Exelda Richard. He moved to Massachusetts in 1948 and started his own contracting business, which he operated for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Claire (Belliveau) Richard; sons Laurie, Denis, Joe & wife Patty, Francis & wife Rachel; daughters Louise Redfield and husband Bill, Diane Kelliher and husband Ed, Terry Risotti and husband Angie (deceased), Pauline Roberge and husband John (deceased), Rita Sheridan and husband Mark (deceased); sister Minnie LeBlanc; 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by 1 brother, 4 sisters, as well as grandchildren Christine and Jonathan.
