Arietta (Baimas) Rigopoulos, 87, of Leominster MA, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Arietta was born in Athens, Greece, on March 30, 1938, the daughter of the late Leonidas and Koralia Baimas. Arietta proudly migrated to the United States in 1960. Arietta was the beloved wife of the late George Rigopoulos, with whom she shared a devoted marriage of 61 years. Arietta and George owned and operated Lindys Diner, a very successful and well-loved local landmark in Keene, NH for over 30 years. Under their care, Lindy’s became a true gathering place for the community, welcoming everyone from local families to well-known politicians. Arietta’s steady presence, hosting and greeting all that came to the diner with a great big smile, made everyone feel at home and helped shape Lindys Diner into the success it was.

Arietta, with great pride and honor hosted the First Lady, Barbara Bush in her home in Keene, NH and greeted and met many politicians at Lindys Diner. Lindys Diner was considered the stepping stone to the White House. It was rumored that a Presidential candidate would not win the New Hampshire Primary without visiting Lindy’s Diner.

Arietta was small in stature but remarkably strong-willed and resilient. She was deeply devoted, and took great pride in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow.
