Carmela T. Puliafico Borbone

August 24, 1926 — January 18, 2019

The Funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Tuesday, January 22 with a Mass in Saint Anthony di Padua Church at 11:30am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernards Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday Morning from 9-11am.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Massachusetts Association for the Blind or to another charity of your choice



Fitchburg- Carmela T. (Borbone) Puliafico, 92, passed away on Friday, January 18 at the Fitchburg Healthcare.

She was born on August 24, 1926 in Worcester, a daughter of Nicola and Lucy (Vitelli) Borbone.

She was the wife of the late Carmelo Puliafico who passed away in 2005.

She is survived by one son, John Puliafico of Nashua, NH., three daughters, Lucy Langelier and her husband Richard of Ashburnham, Lena Luongo and her husband Joseph of Tilton, NH., Mary Roberts and husband Charles of Bow, NH; grandchildren, Jessica Belyea and husband Jonathon, Philip Puliafico, Elizabeth Richardson and husband Troy, Sarah Roberts, Nicholas Langelier, and Anthony Roberts; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Matthew Belyea.

She was predeceased by her two brothers Michael and Alfred Borbone.

Carmela worked for the former Hedstrom Union and also for Sears in downtown Fitchburg.

She belonged to the Fitchburg Order of the Sons of Italy and the Sparkling Seniors. Carmela was a longtime and faithful parishioner of Saint Anthony Church in Fitchburg. She was a skilled cook and candy maker, and was a wonderful baker. She will be greatly missed.
