Caterina Chirico

Mar 12, 1934 — Jul 31, 2026

Worcester

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Caterina Chirico, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend to all whose lives she touched. She left us peacefully on July 31, 2026, while residing in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was born on March 12, 1934, in Giovinazzo, Italy, and emigrated to the United States in 1955.

Caterina was married to Giuseppe Chirico on October 29, 1955. She was an industrious woman, spending her professional years as a seamstress at R&M Manufacturing. Just before she retired, she worked at St Anna Catholic School, where she enjoyed cooking for the students and helping in the preschool classroom.

Caterina was passionate about knitting garments for friends and family. She also loved cooking delicious meals. Caterina's undeniable passion for her crafts overflowed into every facet of her life, making her home a haven of warmth and comfort.

In the words of Matthew 5:16, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven," Caterina lived this verse; her life was a testament to these words. She is survived by her husband, Giuseppe, her loving daughter Lucia Tahan, and son-in-law Richard Tahan. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Alexis Carlisle, Anna Chirico, and Noah Chirico. She is preceded in death by her loving son, Francesco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10 am in St. Anna Church, 199 Lancaster St., Leominster.  Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 4-6 pm in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg.

Caterina's life was a tapestry of love, faith, and resilience. Her memory will be cherished by all those who were fortunate enough to know her. To celebrate her life and share in the love she spread, donations can be made in her name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
