Charles Glynn Burke, was born on September 18, 1935, in the historic town of Natchez, Mississippi. Charles was a man who embodied the spirit of steadfast commitment and a deep love for his family.

Charles was a caring husband, having married Nina Jarvela on December 31, 1964. The couple made their home in New Ipswich, New Hampshire and later in Leominster, Massachusetts, where they raised their adored daughter, Susan.

Charles retired from the US Army in 1980 after spending many tours abroad and receiving numerous medals and commendations including a Bronze Star Medal and a Joint Service Commendation Medal. He spent the next 18 years as a Computer Engineer and Adjunct Professor at University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He retired in 1998.

Following his retirement, he became an avid photographer and held Board of Directors positions in the Leominster Art Association and the Photographic Society of America. He also enjoyed judging exhibitions and salons for numerous local and international camera clubs.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles Sr. and Jessie Reilly Burke. He is survived by his wife, Nina Burke of Leominster, MA his daughter Susan and her partner Robert Sanders of South Chatham, MA and his grandson Tyler Noone of Orleans, MA. He is also survived by three loving sisters, Helen Flowers, Frances Hegwood and Catherine Albert and numerous nieces and nephews.
