Clara C. Bett

June 8, 1976 — August 18, 2025

Leominster

On Monday morning, August 18th, our beautiful Clara Chelimo Bett was received into God’s loving arms. Clara passed peacefully at her home in Leominster, surrounded by her loved ones as she was received into heaven.

Clara, a beacon of resilience, ceaseless hope, and unyielding faith, was born on June 8th, 1976 in Eldoret, Kenya. She was a woman of immense strength who chose to live life filled with joy in Christ no matter her circumstances, always putting others' needs before her own. Clara was a woman who, in the words of Maya Angelou, "brought the sunshine with her," radiating warmth, compassion, and kindness to everyone she encountered. Her indomitable spirit and unfailing love for God were an inspiration to all who knew her, infusing their lives with an enduring sense of hope and optimism.

Clara was the eldest of five, her protective and caring nature shone brightly as she guided and supported her siblings, making sure they did well in school. Clara herself worked hard, pushing to learn all that she could. She graduated from United States International University of Nairobi in 1999 with a Bachelors in International Business Administration, and dreamed of making a difference in people’s lives.

In 2001, Clara's life was blessed with the birth of her beloved son, Wayne, whom she often referred to as the greatest gift God had bestowed upon her. Two years later, she relocated to the United States, embarking on a new journey to provide a better life for her family. In 2007, Clara found her calling as an Associate Probation Officer with the Massachusetts Trial Court, where she tirelessly worked to help people reclaim their lives, eventually becoming a full Probation Officer in 2016. Her love for others, coupled with her desire to inspire change, shone through in her interactions, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and those she served. Her legacy at the Trial Court is marked by Bill S.3117, passed on Clara's behalf to establish a sick leave bank in support of her battle against cancer.

Clara's loving nature showed in her personal life, where she was deeply committed to her son, Wayne, and her parents, Vincent and Rebecca Kibett. Her siblings, Cecilia, Caroline, Tony, and Allan, will remember her as a protective, caring sister, always ready with a word of advice or encouragement. Clara's nieces and nephews, Nailah, Arieana, Abigail, Kenya, and Mason, were sources of immense joy and happiness, further illuminating Clara's life. Clara's Church family and circle of close friends were also important to her, forming deep bonds that resonated with her loving care.

Clara Bett's life was a testament to her faith. A dedicated member of Horizon Christian Fellowship, she was involved in women's fellowship, the cleaning ministry, and bible study. Her steadfast faith was truly inspirational, serving as a beacon of hope and resilience throughout her four-year battle with cancer. Clara's life was defined not by her hardships, but by her courageous spirit, unwavering faith, and the boundless love she extended to everyone around her.
