David Grammel

David Grammel, 65, born in Fitchburg, MA, on January 9, 1961, passed away peacefully at his home on September 28, 2026, alongside his family. His vibrant spirit and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

David is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Robin Grammel (Taylor). He leaves behind his three devoted sons and three granddaughters, with whom he found his deepest pride and joy. His three sons, Joshua Grammel, wife Liana Kizner-Grammel; Chris Grammel, wife Gina Grammel; and Matt Grammel, wife Avery Grammel; and three granddaughters, Naomi, Stella and Summer.

He is survived by his five siblings, Gretchen Lettney, Geoff Grammel, Daniel Grammel, Timothy Grammel, and Mary Grammel. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis Grammel and Joan Grammel (Fenno).

Dave was a dedicated family man who took immense pride in his loved ones. He treasured his wife Robin, to whom he married on May 10, 1986, and often boasted about her accomplishments as a teacher. Together, they raised three respectful, talented boys, who Dave was incredibly proud of. After years of coaching all of them in youth sports, he remained exceptionally involved in rooting them on with great enthusiasm and never missing a game. His love for his family extended to the numerous pets he adored, and he enjoyed long walks with his dogs, most recently his dog Bayley. He also found pleasure in playing golf with his sons and brothers, and spending full days at the beach with his family.

Professionally, Dave was a dedicated Supervisor at UMass Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster, MA, until his retirement in 2024. He also spent 20+ years as an accountant at a several firms, specifically at Grammel and Keogh CPA. Despite his retirement, Dave's commitment to his work community remained strong. As a devoted Catholic, Dave found great joy in being a part of St. Bernard Parish. His faith was a significant part of who he was, and he lived it out through his actions every day, always embodying honesty and integrity. Always quick with a one-liner or goofy joke, Dave had a knack for finding humor in most situations and bringing laughter into the lives of others.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his memory to Sterling Animal Shelter, Inc., 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA.

Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, MA, on Friday, October 2nd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by services on Saturday, October 3rd, at St. Camillus Church in Fitchburg at 10:00 AM.
