Denise K. Wood

As she was surrounded by her loved ones and fur-babies in her home, Denise "Biddy" Wood left us on July 1, 2025, to color outside the lines in a world beyond ours. Born on August 28, 1954, in Fitchburg, MA, Denise had a knack for bringing joy and laughter into the lives of those around her. Known affectionately as 'Bid', 'Mom', 'Grandma', and 'G-Ma', Denise was a resilient and compassionate soul who embraced life's ups and downs with a brave smile and an unbeatable spirit.

Denise's loyalty and love knew no bounds. Whether she was managing operations at The Countertop Shoppe, raising her son, Michael, as a single mother, or spending her retirement years enjoying her favorite hobbies, Denise's warmth and kindness radiated brightly. She loves traveling, doing her nails, reading, coloring, and visiting zoos or animal shelters. Her passion for animals matched her love for her family, and she relished spending time with them, especially her beloved sister, Wendy, and her grandchildren, Lanz, Britaney, and Breeana.

Her faith as an Episcopal Christian provided comfort and strength, and she lived by the words, "Let all that you do be done in love" (1 Corinthians 16:14). Denise was baptized and lived her life reflecting her faith's teachings of love, compassion, and kindness. She was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit.

Denise leaves behind her sister, Wendy Ball; her son, Michael Bishop; and her grandchildren, Britaney, Lanz, and Breeana Bishop. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hellen and James Ball, and her uncles and aunts, Dennis and Mary Brailey, and William and Roz Brailey.
