Dennis Macdonald

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 23 in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. Calling hours will be from 9 am – 11 am prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 739 Water St., Fitchburg, MA 01420



Clinton- Dennis D. MacDonald, 69 passed away on Monday, December 13 at UMass University Hospital in Worcester.

Dennis was born on March 8, 1952 in Fitchburg a son of the late Leonard and JoAnne (DiFazio) MacDonald. He is survived by his son, John MacDonald Sr. and his wife Shannon of Fitchburg, his daughter, Carrie Bloom and her husband, Donald of Leominster, brothers, Gene MacDonald of Leominster, David MacDonald of Lunenburg, grandchildren, John MacDonald Jr., Audrey MacDonald, Ryan MacDonald, Hannah MacDonald, great granddaughter, Olivia Harrison. Dennis is predeceased by his brothers, Leonard and Thomas MacDonald. Mr. MacDonald had been employed as a Police Officer for the Town of Shirley from 1976 to 1980. He then worked for the Town of Ayer Police Department from 1980 to 1987 retiring at the rank of Sergeant. Mr. MacDonald then was Director of Security for Kimco Realty Corporation – Searstown Mall. Dennis served his country in the US ARMY from 1970 to 1976. He was also a longtime volunteer for the Salvation Army. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and also enjoyed watching professional boxing. He often would host TV viewing parties at his home for his friends.
