FITCHBURG – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Aunt, Dolores C. Aubuchon, who passed away on Tuesday, May 4 in her home.  She was 103 years young!

She was born Dolores Claire LaFleur on April 21, 1918 to Arthur and Estelle (Gagne) LaFleur.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Gerard M. Aubuchon.  She will be greatly missed by her two sons, Michael and his wife, Gloria, of Gardner, Daniel and his wife, Susan, of Westminster, and a daughter, Paula Pelletier and her husband, Louis, of Westminster.  Also, she adored her grandchildren, who spent so much time at her home for sleep-overs and other adventures!  They are Matthew of Fitchburg, Scott of Westminster, Jeffrey of Groton, Jason of Leominster, Steven of Charlestown, Allison of Gardner, and Nicholas Pelletier of Westminster.  She cherished her seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also predeceased by two sisters, Anita Deloge, and Lorraine Normandin, and a brother, Raymond LaFleur.

She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1936, and then began her life’s work as a consummate homemaker.  She was so talented at making braided rugs, wreaths, floral arrangements, knitting, and crocheting.  She was a wonderful piano player.  Since 1967, she has been a passionate Boston Red Sox sports fan, and was so lucky to witness their World Series Championships in 2004, 2007, 2013, and 2018.  She and her husband enjoyed walking, skating, and cross-country skiing, as well as traveling to many places around the world.

Dolores’ family is so thankful to the “French Connection”, who have lovingly cared for her for the last twelve years, Dr. Knutson, who has been a wonderful physician for so many years offering care, guidance and amazing advice, also to Compassus Hospice of Auburn.
