Donald Joseph Cormier, a loving and loyal soul, was born in Fitchburg, MA on March 17, 1935, and became a cherished resident of Leominster, Massachusetts. A true pillar of his community, Donald was known for his thoughtful nature, always ready to lend a supportive hand to those in need. His generosity extended beyond mere material expressions; Donald was most generous with his time, always there for his loved ones when they needed him. He was a dedicated paper maker, working tirelessly for the City of Fitchburg until his retirement. His diligence and loyalty were mirrored in his personal life, making him a beloved figure in the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Donald found joy in the simplicity of life. He was a man of many hobbies, finding solace in the quiet contemplation of puzzle-making, the thrill of a well-angled fishing line, and the camaraderie in a friendly game of pool during his younger days. He held a special fondness for the tranquil landscapes of Maine and Cape Cod, where he loved to vacation. However, no matter where he journeyed, his heart remained anchored in Fitchburg, the place he always called home.
Donald Cormier is survived by his daughter, Paula Dembowski (Michael); son, Douglas Cormier (Tammy); grandson Timothy Cormier (Kaytlyn), great grandchildren Ava, John, and Allison Cormier; and brother Alyre Cormier. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise Cormier; parents Alyre and Arlene Cormier; and siblings Robert, Dorothy, Jeannette, and Raymond Cormier.
Donald Cormier's life was a testament to the depth of his love, the strength of his loyalty, and the breadth of his kindness. As we remember him, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos to his memorial page. May we all find comfort in the remembrance of his warm smile, his hearty laugh, and his generous spirit.
