OBITUARY

Fitchburg – Douglas A. Curry, 64, of Fitchburg, passed away Tuesday, December 8, in Saint Vincent Hospital.

Doug was born in Fitchburg on May 22, 1951, a son of the late Clyde and Doris (Duval) Curry. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1969. Doug was a former Fitchburg Fire Fighter and also tended bar at Major’s for 10 years. One of his many passions was golf. Doug made his career as a Groundskeeper for Oak Hill and Westminster Country Clubs.

He was a voracious reader, who enjoyed educating himself in all areas. His great love of knowledge was only second to his love of family. He was a wonderfully loving man who treasured time with his grandchildren. Doug will fondly be remembered for his loving of cooking, music, and driving. Traveling was always a favorite pastime of Doug’s; whether driving the continental Unites States or just day trips with his companion Dawn.

He leaves his son, Blake Curry and companion Jocelyn Bigelow of Leominster; grandchildren, Clyde and Mason Curry and Gabriel and Michael Jusino; his companion, Dawn Ackels of Fitchburg and her children, Chad and Chelsey Cormier; brothers, Wayne Curry and wife Lynn of Fl and James Curry and wife Kathy of FL; several nieces, nephews, and friends, including J. Quinn.
