Leominster

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Clark Buxton, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, on February 9, 1956, Doug made the most of his seventy years, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, kindness, and enduring memories. Known for his strength of character, affable spirit, offbeat sense of humor, and zest for life, Doug was the kind of man who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He married the love of his life, Debra, on May 16, 1976, and their bond remained unshaken, inspiring all who witnessed their love and companionship.

Doug was a respected figure in the restaurant industry, serving as a Manager at Hamra Enterprise in Gardner, MA. His dedication and work ethic were well known, and he retired in 2021 after a fulfilling career. But work was only one part of Doug's life. He had a deep passion for the great outdoors and the beauty of New England. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Woods of Westminster. He loved walking, exercising, camping in the White Mountains, and exploring the beauty of the rugged Maine Coast. But perhaps his most treasured hobby was following his favorite New England sports teams, a passion that often made for lively conversations and friendly debates.

Doug leaves behind his beloved wife, Debra Buxton; his granddaughter/daughter, Mackenzie Buxton; great-grandson, Keagan Michaud; sister, Janice Goguen; brother, Rodney Buxton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Sylvia Buxton, his daughter, Cristal Buxton, and his sister, Sharon Buxton.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, MA. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1200 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg, MA.

Doug's family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society / Relay for Life Greater Gardner, "On Angels Wings Team" P.O. Box 5003, Hagerstown, MD 21741
