Edmond (Ed) Basque

Edmond (Ed) Basque, 89, of Worcester, died Saturday, September 26, 2026, with loving family members by his side.

Ed was a loving and strong family man who worked as a truck driver for Aubuchon Hardware until he retired. In retirement, he enjoyed reading, watching sports, and being at home spending time with his family. His faith and family were foremost. Most of all, he was a great dad and a wonderful Pepere.

Ed was a devoted husband and leaves behind his loving wife of 70 years, Yvonne (Chaume) Basque; a son, James Basque, and his wife, Julie; and two daughters, Nancy Frey and her husband Bob, and Susan Lamontagne and her husband Gary; five grandchildren, Kate, Andrew, Gary, Matthew, and David; three great-grandchildren, Henry, Miles, and Jaxon; his sister-in-law Pauline Basque; and many nieces and nephews

Ed was born in Fitchburg on December 31st, 1936, the son of the late Anthony and Alma Basque. He was predeceased by his siblings Lionel Basque, Marguerite Emma, Doris Lortie, and Lorraine Rousseau.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with a Funeral Mass at 11 am in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church St., Westminster. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Westminster.

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
