Arrangements are being handled by Brandon Funeral Home and all services will be private, with plans for a celebration of life to be held at later date.
Effie Georgia (Kayias) Stamas of Fitchburg, MA passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021.
Effie was born in Bristol, CT on August 28, 1936 the daughter of the late George and Sophie Kayias.
She was predeceased by Husband of 64 years Paul Stamas in 2019 as well as her brothers John and
Angelo Kayias.
She leaves her five sons and spouses, George Stamas of Fitchburg; Gregory Stamas and Janet of Northboro, John Stamas and Marie of Leominster, Christopher Stamas and Madeline of West Boylston, and Paul Stamas and Angela of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Michael and Mikaela Stamas, John and Caitlin Stamas, Alex and Erika Stamas, Ryan and Conner Hartman.
She spent her lifetime involved with many charitable and civic endeavors.
She was a member of the Burbank Hospital Guild and volunteered there for many years.
Effie was a member and past president of Laurelwood Garden Club of Fitchburg, as well as a
member of the Greek Orthodox Church in Fitchburg. She was an avid bridge player.
Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren.
