Elias Liatsis

January 18, 1947 — June 9, 2025

Falmouth, MA

Elias Liatsis passed Monday, June 9, 2025, “the day the music died”. At only 15 years old Eli joined his fathers band, The Meraclides, and performed from Maine to Florida entertaining thousands with a classic mix of Greek and American music.

Eli graduated from Fitchburg High school in 1965, during which he established his own musical presence with the band Five-Fours.

Upon graduation he attended the Berkeley School of Music in Boston, where he developed a broad musical talent. He was an accomplished player of the saxophone, piano, drums, clarinet and flute.

No stranger to hard work, Eli’s vinyl and paperhanging skills is evidenced in some of the most prestigious commercial buildings in Boston, to some of the grandest ballrooms in New York.

When not traveling, Eli enjoyed being on the water on his boat. Other activities Eli enjoyed were cooking, fishing, golfing and was an avid skier. Having a tool for almost anything, he was a master of all trades. A good deal of leisure time was spent at the pool table with Uncle Leo Xarras discussing sports, horses and work. His stories and jokes were endless and shared freely. He was unapologetic, while hustling the big boys at the weekend Arm Wrestling Tournaments.

He leaves behind three sons. John and Michael of Fitchburg, Justin and Ashley of Falmouth. He was blessed with his 3 grandchildren, most recent addition being Athena Liatsis.

He was the beloved son of John and Athena (Xarras) Liatsis, and brother of Craig and Jamie of NH, Joanne (Liatsis) and Tom Donnelly of Fitchburg, and Fred and Stephanie of Lunenburg. Nieces and Nephews Corey, Athena, Shane and Alexis.

We would like to thank the nurses and caregivers for their kindness and care for the past several years.
