It is with a deep sense of loss and profound respect that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Sophia Boulerice, affectionately known as Betty, on June 3, 2025. Born to the late William and Elsa Benedict on April 23, 1940, in Fitchburg, MA, Betty spent her entire life in Lunenburg, Massachusetts, just a mile from her birthplace. A spirited, humble, courageous, and loving woman, she lived her life on her own terms and left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Betty was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and resilience, illuminating the lives of her family and friends. As a devoted housewife, she made her home a sanctuary of love and comfort, pouring her heart into nurturing her family and tending to her cherished garden. Her humble spirit was reflected in her love for animals and her frequent trips to flea markets, where she sought out hidden treasures with an enthusiasm and joy that were infectious. Courageous in her own quiet way, Betty faced every challenge with grace and strength, embodying the words of Helen Keller, "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved."
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, John Sr., and her oldest son, John Jr. She is survived by her son, Ronald Boulerice and his spouse Brenda Boulerice as well as her grand daughters Samatha Boulerice, Briana Boulerice, and Britany Boulerice . Her legacy of love and strength will continue to live on through him and everyone else whose lives she touched. Elizabeth Boulerice was the epitome of a life well-lived, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
We kindly invite all those who knew and loved Elizabeth to share their memories and upload photos to her memorial page. Your personal tributes will serve as a comforting reminder of the spirited, humble, courageous, and loving woman that she was. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, MA, is honored to manage her commemoration.
