Elizabeth Membrino

April 19, 1943 — February 17, 2024

Wayland, MA

Elizabeth Jane Membrino, affectionately known as Betty, was born on April 19, 1943, in Fitchburg, MA, and passed away on February 17, 2024. A loving, generous, thoughtful, and supportive woman, Betty left an enduring mark on the hearts of all those fortunate to have known her.

Betty was a long-time employee before becoming the proud owner of a John Deere equipment dealership, Padula Brothers in Lunenburg, MA. Known as a diligent and hard-working boss, she focused on supporting the farmers throughout New England retiring in 2003. Despite her professional achievements, Betty was most proud of her title as "Super Grammy," a moniker bestowed upon her by her adoring grandchildren. Betty always found time to focus on the things that mattered most to her: her large extended family, her close-knit circle of friends, her beloved grandkids, and her hobbies, which included cooking, travel, reading, and puzzles.

She was a regular parishioner of St. Anthony's, where she found solace and companionship. Betty's warm, inviting nature made her a cherished member of her community and an anchor in her family. Her laughter was infectious, her wisdom was sought after, and her kitchen was the heart of her home. A long-time resident of Fitchburg, MA, Betty eventually moved to Wayland, MA, in 2023 to be closer to her son.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Philip D. Membrino, her father Frank Lunetta, her mother Elsie Lunetta, and her sister and best friend Patricia DiConza, Betty's memory will be kept alive by her son Louis Membrino, her daughter-in-law Sue Membrino, and her grandchildren Natalie and Philip Membrino.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 21 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, MA. A funeral mass will follow on Thursday, February 22 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Church, 84 Salem Street, Fitchburg, MA. Betty's final resting place will be at the St Bernard's Cemetery, 96 Goodrich Street in Fitchburg with the burial service commencing at 11:30 AM followed by a lunch gathering.
