November 14, 1938 — February 1, 2015

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Saint Joseph’s Church in Fitchburg; an announcement will follow. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made in Emily’s name to the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.

FITCHBURG — Emily A. (Hannon) Furlong Bilotta, 76, of Fitchburg died Sunday February 1, in her home after a long illness surrounded by her family.

Emily was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 14, 1938, a daughter of the late Leo and Virginia Hannon. She was a graduate of Lunenburg High School. She retired from the TRW Company after many years of employment. Emily was a member of Saint Joseph Church in Fitchburg.

Always an active woman, Emily loved to travel and take day trips with friends and family. She found great pleasure in gardening and tending her immaculate flower gardens. Emily loved to exercise and dance, but most of all she loved to spend time with her beloved grandchildren.

She leaves her two daughters, Susan Holman and her husband Vernon Holman, Jr. of Leominster, Sharon Holman and her husband Mark Holman of Lunenburg; grandchildren, Christopher, Taryn, and Ross Holman all of Leominster, and Brett Holman of Lunenburg. She also leaves her companion Bill Gutkowski of Fitchburg.

Emily was predeceased by her husband William J. Furlong in 1976 and by her brother Leo “Sonny” Hannon.
