Ethlel L Snowden

Ethel L. Snowden, a light to her family and in the community of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, has left us at the age of 80. Born on April 23, 1946, in Antoine, Arkansas, Ethel carried the warmth and strength of her roots with her as she forged her own path. A steadfast believer, Ethel's life was a testament to the verse, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13). It was with this love that Ethel lived her life, exemplifying what it meant to be loving, thoughtful, supportive, and generous, especially for her three granddaughters.

Ethel was the most caring and attentive mother and grandmother. She found her greatest joy in her granddaughter’s and leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. Ethel is survived by her loving daughter-in-law Lynn Snowden, and her beloved granddaughters, Kianna, Jazmine, and Sierra Snowden, grandson in-law Angel Rabaza, as well as two sisters, five brothers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Goy and Gertrude (Jones) Snowden, and her beloved son, Kenny Snowden, four sisters and two brothers.

Ethel's career as a Payroll Administrator at General Electric spanned 25 remarkable years. Her dedication and diligence in her work were admired by all. Ethel retired in 1998, channeling her energy and love for life into her hobbies. She was often seen with her bowling team, laughing and cheering everyone on, or in her garden, tending to her flowers with the same tender loving care she gave to her family and friends. Ethel found joy in weekend adventures with her granddaughters, family game nights, and holidays spent together. Never missing a performance or event of theirs. A true testament to her generous spirit. Her love for her family and her faith were intertwined; she cherished going out to eat with them after her beloved Sunday service at church. For many years, Ethel also dedicated herself to helping with children's church, a testament to her supportive nature.

Ethel's life was a symphony of love and service. Her radiant spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. As we mourn the loss of Ethel, we also celebrate her life and the beautiful moments she shared with us. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
