Eugene was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 22, 1933, a son of the late Eugene and Helen (Humble) Buckley.  He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War as a Military Policeman, until his honorable discharge. Eugene spent his career working as a Regional Sales Manager for Perdue Farms throughout New England and New York State until he retired in 1997. Prior to that, he worked for Leominster Poultry and Borden Chemical.

In the early 1950s, Eugene danced on the original Bandstand in Philadelphia which eventually evolved into the well-known American Bandstand hosted by Dick Clark.

He loved professional boxing and football. Eugene was a loyal Patriots fan but also rooted for his hometown Eagles. Eugene enjoyed his time serving as president of the Oakmont Youth Football League while his sons played and daughter cheered.

He enthusiastically announced the games from the press box and kept the fans and players entertained with his unique sense of humor. He was active in St. Edward’s Parish of Westminster where he volunteered to organize spaghetti dinners, chicken BBQs and all aspects of fundraising. He was a lifetime member of the British American Club as well as a member of the Fitchburg Knights of Columbus.

Eugene will be respectfully remembered for his quick sense of humor, leadership, generosity, and unwavering love and dedication to his family.
