The funeral will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Friday, February 27, at 10:00 am. Burial with military honors will follow in the MA Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 26, from 4-7 pm in the funeral home In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Ameson Avenue, Auburndale, Fl 33823.



OBITUARY Leominster – Frederick A. LaPlume, 84, of Davenport, FL, formerly of Leominster, passed away February 6th, 2015. He was born in Leominster, a son of the late Edmond J. and Alma (Baribeau) LaPlume. Mr. LaPlume retired after 32 years in the Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant. He proudly served his country in World War II, and was involved in the Berlin Air Lift, as well as both the Vietnam and Korean War. He also retired as Acting Chief of the Leominster Police Department after 32 years of dedicated service. Mr. LaPlume was a man of great integrity, who loved to read, collect coins, and travel. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, June A. (Palmer) LaPlume; his children, Kimberly LaPlume, Steven LaPlume, Donna LaPlume, Denise LaPlume-Kent and her husband Kevin; four grandchildren, Casey Ellis and her fiancé Joseph Forsyth, Robert Ellis and his fiancé Melissa Martin, Aberdeen LaPlume and Tiana LaPlume. He also leaves two great granddaughters, Rylee Ellis and Haylee Forsyth; brother Edmond LaPlume and his wife Bonnie (Hartrey); a sister, Jane (LaPlume) Randall; several nieces and nephews. Mr. LaPlume was predeceased by his brothers, James and Ronald LaPlume.
