Gloria Polk

October 28, 1946 — June 5, 2023

Leominster

Gloria (Dalton) Polk, 76, died Monday, June 5, 2023, at her home after an illness.

She leaves her three sisters, Carolyn Dalton Bryant of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, Cheryl Brown of Albany, Georgia, and Margaret Bailey of Newton, Georgia. She was a beloved aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her two brothers, Razz Dalton, Jr., (Bubba), and Charles Dalton.

Gloria was born in Lumpkin, Georgia on October 28, 1946, a daughter of the late Razz Sr. and Claudine (Hall) Dalton. She graduated from Lumpkin High School in 1964, in Lumpkin, Georgia.

She worked as a CNA at Keystone Nursing Home in Leominster for many years earlier in her life. She loved assisting and helping her patients there.  She was a member of the First Church of God in Christ and served there as a church usher. She loved her church family and was faithful in attendance as long as she was able.

Gloria loved her family in her own unique way. A natural introvert, without hesitation, she became the family “babysitter” of her young great-nephews and babysat them from birth to pre-school age, during school vacations, when they weren’t feeling well, or whenever she was needed. Her door and heart were always open to them. The stories of her adventures with her nephews and their mischievous ways continue to bring laughter. She was always generous to her family and would never fail to find something to give you. She will always be remembered for loving us all in her unique way.

Her funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of God in Christ, 84 Snow Street, Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Bishop Bryant Robinson, Jr. will officiate the service.
