Greg B Carignan

April 12, 1974 — February 12, 2022

Greg Burton Carignan of Westminster, MA, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2022, surrounded by his family after a second battle with bladder cancer.

Born in Leominster on April 12, 1974 to Jeanne (Wood) and Ronald N Carignan, Greg grew up on Granite Street with his older brothers Scott and Marc. Greg was a gregarious child, and grew into a more gregarious adult. Always the loudest and funniest in a room, ready with a joke or good natured roast, he was a larger-than-life presence, a talker with a boundless sense of humor.

Greg married the love of his life, Erin Dugan, in 2001. Their son Max was born in 2004 and his brother Cooper followed in 2005. A loving husband and proud father, Erin and the boys were Greg’s everything. As the boys grew and started playing hockey, Greg embraced the sport and his love of hockey grew with theirs. Coaching, watching them play, and going to Bruins games with them were highlights of his family time.

Never one to sit still, Greg was an avid fisherman and gardener, raised chickens and turkeys, and always had some kind of project going on. Despite this, he was always ready and willing to help friends and family with their projects when he was needed.

After graduating Valedictorian of his Rob Roy Academy class, Greg started his career at Woody’s Barbershop in Sterling before opening Greg’s Barbershop in Westminster in 2005. Greg enjoyed being a part of the Westminster downtown business community, and appreciated the support he received during his illness from his many customers and friends.

In addition to his wife and sons, Greg leaves behind his mother Jeanne Carignan and her husband Leo Mitchell, his brother Marc and wife Julie, and his brother Scott and wife Nia, as well as a niece, many nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his father Ronald N Carignan.

Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Saturday, February 19, from 1-3pm. A memorial service will begin at 3pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Bladder Cancer Support Network at bcan.org
