Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Thursday, October 14, from 10am-12noon. A graveside service will be held in Saint Cecilia’s Cemetery at 12:45pm.



James DiPerri, 95, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 in his home. James was born in Fitchburg on January 2, 1926, a son of the late Vincenzo and Rosaria (Aiesi) DiPerri. He was the husband of the late Lorraine (Proulx) DiPerri. He leaves eight children, James DiPerri, III and wife Evelyn, Richard A. DiPerri, David DiPerri, Kevin M. DiPerri and wife Marianne, Diane M. Salouvardos and husband Kostas, Douglas R. DiPerri, Lisa Perez, Linda Fournier and husband Gary. James also leaves his sister Mary Romano. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Joseph, Paul, and Santo DiPerri. Jim was a Leominster Police Officer from 1958 to 1983. In his early years he was a superb athlete playing basketball and baseball. He was a star pitcher for the Sons of Italy and had been scouted by the Chicago White Sox. He was also a drummer in a popular local band. He met his “hon” Lorraine in April, 1946. She stepped off a bus in downtown Fitchburg for a day of shopping. He was across the street with his friends, he turned to them and said “That’s the girl I’m going to marry.” They went on to have eight children, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren and 46 years of married life before she passed. He was adored by his family and will be sorely missed, although now he is reunited with his “hon.”
