Born in Newton, MA, on October 12, 1957, Janet's life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and resilience. Her heart was a sanctuary of warmth and love, and she always put her family and friends first. Janet's marriage to her beloved Gary Leavitt was an extraordinary love story, spanning 43 years, with 39 of those years spent as a devoted wife. Their partnership was a profound example of enduring love and companionship.
Janet spent her professional years serving the Town of Townsend as an Administrative Assistant to the Building Commissioner. Her dedication and commitment to her work were evident, reflecting her love for the town and its community. In her retirement, Janet found joy in her hobbies. She was a lover of nature, spending countless hours tending to her garden, cooking delicious meals, and indulging in equestrian horse riding. Her life was filled with simple pleasures, and she found happiness in every moment spent with her loved ones. Janet leaves her husband, Gary Leavitt, four children, Tim Cushman, Christine Cushman, Gregory Leavitt, and Adam Leavitt; five grandchildren, Boston, Cash, and Mia Wironen, and Levi and Ivy Cashman, her three siblings, Joseph Lorenzo, Jeannie Donahue, and Rita Finn, many nieces, nephews and cousins, all mourn her loss deeply but will forever cherish their memories with her. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lorenzo, and Mary Baccari.
