Jean-Guy Michaud (aka: Jean) of Fitchburg, MA passed away on December 30th, 2020 after a long battle with COPD.
He was born to Patrick and Jeanne (Sarasin) Michaud (both deceased), on April 8, 1941, in St. Germain de Grantham, Quebec, Canada and was the oldest son amongst his 11 siblings who all survive him.
Jean found a passion for car racing at a very young age and started his car racing career on the dirt tracks of Quebec.
In 1964, he moved to Massachusetts with his supporting wife Denise Cote, who survives him, to pursue his love of car racing and the American dream. Jean is also survived by his loving daughters: Kathleen and her husband Jerry Colleton of Lunenburg, and Julie Michaud of Holliston, MA, as well as his 4 grandchildren whom he adored: Chelsi Colleton, Patrick Colleton and fiancé Taylor Socha, PFC Daniel Campbell and Sophia Campbell. They will miss him terribly.
He is survived also by dozens of in-laws and hundreds of cousins, nieces and nephews who loved and looked up to him.
Jean was the owner of J. Michaud Auto Body on John Fitch Hwy. in Fitchburg for almost 40 years. He was well-known for his fine craftsmanship of both street cars and race cars, alike.
He was an extremely hard worker and mentor to many.
His life was a balance of family & friends, his auto body shop, storytelling and laughter and his love of racing.
