John B. “Jack” McCormick, 94 passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, February 15 due to a heart ailment. Jack was born on December 31, 1926 in Fitchburg a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Shea) McCormick. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sally (Nikander) McCormick of Fitchburg, brother, Gaylord McCormick and his wife, Joyce of Fitchburg, nephews, Roger Aldrich Jr., William Aldrich, Mark McCormick, niece, Michelle McCormick and her spouse, Amy. Jack served his country in the US NAVY in the Pacific Theatre during WW II. Mr. McCormick was a painter at Fitchburg State University for many years. Jack enjoyed golf, flea marketing, wood working and crafts. In lieu of flowers Jack asked if we would be compassionate and kind to others.
