A private service with military honors will be held in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
Bedford – Joseph “Jay” P. DiMauro Jr., 73 passed away on Tuesday, August 16 in the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital.
Joseph was born in Fitchburg on July 1, 1949 a son of the late Joseph P. and Marie (Colby) DiMauro Sr.
He is survived by his sister, Diane Bernatchez and her husband, Francis , nieces, Suzanne Fell, Lauren Moore, Christina Meuse, nephew, Seth Bernatchez and his close family friend, Jack Murray.
Jay was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, Class of 1967
Mr. DiMauro was employed for many years for the Clinton Post Office as a mail carrier.
He served his country in the US Air Force.
Joseph was an avid baseball fan.
