Joseph, fondly known as "Cal" to his friends and family, was a dedicated father, a talented singer, and a humorous soul who brought joy to those around him. Joseph was a man of many talents. He was a smart and accomplished contractor, who owned his own carpentry business until his retirement in 2013. He held a soft spot in his heart for animals, especially his birds and dogs. He was the VP of the Rhode Island Budgie Club and President & Founder of the New England Roller Association. He was also the lead singer from the group "The Classics." His smooth and resonant voice often the highlight of any gathering. Joseph was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving in the 3rd Recon Squadron, 2nd A/C from 1962 to 1965. His commitment to service and community was a testament to his character.
Joseph is survived by his children Joseph Testa III of Revere, MA, John and Kris Testa of Kingston, NH, Jason and Stephanie Testa of Wakefield, MA, Justin Testa and Shanaz Babaloui of Revere, MA, Lynne Sollis of Dedham, MA, Kerry Dillon and Anthony Dillon of Ithaca, NY. As we mourn his loss, let us remember the words of Romans 14:8, "If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord." Joseph's life was a testament to these words, living each day with dedication, talent, humor, and intelligence.
