FITCHBURG – Josephine J. (Martines) Webster, 90, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 in The Highlands.

She was born June 12, 1924 in Fitchburg, the daughter of Anthony and Angela (Calia) Martines. Her parents were founding members of Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church.

She was employed at Foster Grant Co. for 20 years. She was an avid golfer and was a member of Ellinwood Country Club in Athol, Oak Hill Country Club and Westminster Country Club. She belonged to the Worcester County Women’s Golf Association. Josephine enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of the Fitchburg and Gardner Bridge clubs and a former member of Health Alliance Bridge Club.

She leaves her daughter, Susan L. Faiola of Fitchburg and her son, David M. Webster of Waltham, three grandchildren, Anthony M. Faiola, Lauren A. Faiola, and Kristy Grainger; two great grandchildren, Ally and Anthony Faiola, and a great granddog, Haskel.

Josephine was predeceased by her brother, Nicholas Martines.
