Kathleen M. Dennen passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. Born on June 21, 1964, in Leominster, MA, Kathleen, affectionately known as 'Klaf' by those who knew her best, lived an extraordinary life defined by courage, resilience, and a sense of humor that could light up even the darkest room.
Kathleen graduated from St. Bernard's in 1983, later attending Assumption College and Fitchburg State College, where she earned a Master's Degree in Social Services. She served the community as a Para Professional in the Fitchburg Public Schools and advocated for people with disabilities on the City of Fitchburg Disabilities Commission. Kathleen also volunteered at the Beacon of Hope in Leominster and organized a local Support Group for the Visually Impaired, a cause close to her heart as she herself was visually impaired. Her resilient spirit and dedication to service were evident in everything she did, including her time spent as a Camp Counselor at Camp Wapanacki in upstate Vermont, an adventure camp for the visually impaired.
Kathleen was a woman of many passions, from cheering on the Red Sox and going on classic rock-infused road trips to spending time in York, Maine. She was a devotee of the Gameshow Network, the Food Network, and the show 'Blue Bloods.' Yet, her greatest joy was found in the company of her loved ones, including her beloved dog Jaxson and her lifelong best friend, Teresa. Her witty disposition, thoughtful nature, and courageous spirit made her an unforgettable presence, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
Kathleen is survived by her father, Harold Dennen, her mother, Mary Dennen, the Love of her life, Elwin Paskell, and her daughter, Lily "Luka " Paskell. She also leaves behind her cherished sister Meg and niece Gabriela. As we are reminded of the words of Helen Keller, “Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” Kathleen's life was a testament to this sentiment, and her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those she left behind. Our sweet Klaf, we will miss you dearly. Until we meet again.
You are the Sun, I am the Moon. You are the words, I am the Tune ..Play me
