Kathleen J. Valois

August 20, 1946 — April 29, 2025

Leominster

Kathleen J. Valois, 78, of Lunenburg, died Tuesday, April 29, at the Leominster Hospital, after a long illness. She leaves behind one daughter, Kimberly R. (Valois) Jones, and her partner Lee McCarthy of Lunenburg; a son, Rob Valois, and his wife Veronica Wasserman Valois of New York; three beloved grandchildren Evelyn, Anna, and Nola of Lunenburg; and many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and sisters-and-brothers-in-law. Kathy was predeceased by her husband David R. Valois in August 2015; her mother Dorothy (Fisher) Andreucci in December 2008; and her father Ralph Andreucci in October 1996.

Kathy was born on August 20, 1946 in Fitchburg and grew up on Heywood Street, a neighborhood filled with cousins, aunts, and uncles. In 1964, she graduated from Fitchburg High School and went on to attend Becker College in Worcester, studying business administration and secretarial science, graduating in 1966. At this time, she met her husband-to-be Dave. They married in 1969 at St. Anthony di Padua Church in Fitchburg. The two settled in Lunenburg, where they would live for many decades, raising their children, Rob and Kim; hosting family parties and cookouts; and tending their beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.

Kathy was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lunenburg and worked as a medical secretary for many area doctor’s offices over the years. She was an amazing cook, from homemade pasta to shepherd’s pie to an Italian red sauce no one can replicate. She enjoyed gardening; reading; spending time with her granddaughters; watching favorite movies like Dirty Dancing; laughing with her friends and neighbors; and, in these last years, being with her beloved dog Diamond. Kathy is remembered fondly for her kind and calm presence, her unwavering devotion to family and friends, her beautiful smile, and her quiet grace.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or may be left at the Funeral Home.
