Kristen was a bit of a free spirit. Following graduation she spent summers on Cape Cod and winters in St. Croix, She traveled the world alighting in such places as Costa Rica, Germany, Africa, Greece, and Papua New Guinea to name a few points of interest. She then settled in the town of Orleans.
Kristen's career was deeply rooted in service and creativity. She was an ever-present figure at The Land Ho, a local restaurant where her warmth and charm were as much a part of the menu as the food she served. Later she worked as a potter at the Plimoth Plantation. Kristen crafted beautiful pieces. Her artistry brought joy and beauty to many homes and her memory will continue to do so.
Kristen leaves her loving brother, Todd Peltonen, along with an extended family of many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Helen Peltonen, and her dear friends Darlene and Tom Green. Kristen's spirit, encapsulated in her vibrant smile and infectious laughter, will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 750 Rindge Rd., Fitchburg, MA followed by a light luncheon. Burial will be private.
