Larry Selig, born Lawrence J. Selig on May 10, 1945, in Newton, MA, was a man of extraordinary skill and an unforgettable spirit. "Larry," as he was affectionately known, spent his life building not just homes, but also relationships, memories, and legacies that will stand the test of time. The adage "Life is a journey, not a destination," perfectly encapsulates Larry's approach to life. His journey was one of unwavering determination, relentless passion, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure.
Larry's professional life was as vibrant as his personality. A builder by trade, he spent decades crafting fine custom homes, leaving his mark on the architectural landscape of Massachusetts and beyond. His work earned him a reputation for excellence in his field, and his homes stand as a testament to his creativity and vision. But his work was not confined to his job. Larry was an active member of the Lions Club, where he dedicated his time and expertise to serving his local community. His passions extended beyond his work as he spent his leisure time golfing, boating, and indulging in deep-sea fishing.
Larry's life was beautifully woven with threads of love and connection. He lived in several places, including Lexington, Vero Beach, Florida, Concord, MA, Carlisle, MA, and Chelmsford, MA, before finally settling in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. His life was touched by many, and in turn, he touched many lives. He was the loving father to Peter Selig and James Selig, and a doting grandfather to Jamie Selig. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Selig and Mary Selig.
In remembering Larry, we recall the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Larry's radiant spirit and loving heart left an indelible mark on those around him, creating memories that will continue to warm hearts and inspire smiles.
