Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Sunday, September 12, from 12:00 noon – 2:00pm. A prayer service will be held at 1:00pm. Burial will be held privately.



Fitchburg – Lena G. (Cordio) Gallant, 97, passed away peacefully on September 7, in the Highlands.

Lena was born in Fitchburg on December 24, 1923, a daughter of the late Luciano and Giuseppina (Agnesia) Cordio.

She is survived by her two grandchildren, Michele LaBell, David LaPlante and his wife, Nicole and her son, Tyler; three great-grandchildren, Cassandra Bellofatto and her husband Daniel, Alexander LaBell and Cailin LaPlante and her mother, Danielle LaPlante; one great-great granddaughter, Isla Bellofatto; son in law Victor LaPlante; several nephews and nieces.

Lena was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Armand Gallant, her daughter Linda LaPlante, as well as her siblings, Nicholas and John Cordio, Jennie Garceau, and Mary Grier.
