If heaven was capable of improvement, it happened at 6:31 AM on January 5th, 2023, when at the age of 93 Lena P Albert joined Victor Albert, her beloved husband of 72 years, and a love story for the ages entered its final chapter. Heaven has gained a new angel; although many who knew and loved her considered her an angel on earth. No human being is perfect; but you couldn’t come much closer. Lena was too humble to ever have believed such high praise, but she was so loving and filled with Grace that this is what comes to mind in thinking about how she lived her life.

Lena was lovingly and compassionately cared for in her final years by so many in her extensive family; but most especially by her daughters Peggy and Jackie, who assured her the very best quality of life right until the end, and Lena was able to exit this earth with the same Grace and dignity with which she always lived.

Lena Pauline Belliveau was born in Leominster on July 19, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Dora Belliveau. She attended school at St. Bernard’s in Fitchburg, MA. A lifelong parishioner of St. Cecilia Parish in Leominster, she was a Christian woman who lived according to the preaching of the Bible always. As the story goes, she had such strong faith that she had planned to become a nun. But the Good Lord had other plans for her and instead she met and married Victor and together they spent their lifetime instilling their faith in their 11 children and their grandchildren and so very far beyond. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Lena will forever be remembered by many far beyond her own family for her love and kindness and the words of wisdom she frequently imparted; but mostly for the Blessings she was famous for giving people, whether a loved one or someone she just met, at every chance that she got.

Lena is survived by her daughters, Marie LeBlanc and her husband Claude of Westminster, Anne Albert of North Hampton, Gloria Chlan and her husband Albert of Rosemount, MN, Margaret (Peggy) Merrill of Fitchburg, and Jacqueline Duval and her husband Michael of Leominster; her sons John Albert and his wife Carmella, Thomas Albert and his wife Gail, Peter Albert and his wife Mary, all of Leominster; Gerry Albert and his wife Karen of Harwich; her daughter in-law Sandra Albert of Ormond by the Sea, FL; 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Connie Belliveau of Leominster and Anita Leger of Baldwinville and brother-in-law Desire Cormier of Ashby. In addition to her husband, Victor Albert, and parents, Lena is predeceased by her son Paul Albert, her daughter Janice Hanson and husband Mike Hanson of Leominster; her sisters Lucille Richard, Claire Richard, and Aline Albert and her brother Robert Peter Belliveau.
