Lucy E. Lizotte, 93, worked at the Comfort Slipper Corp. And Marlboro Footwear

Lucy E. (Quartarone) Lizotte passed to her eternal rest in her home on Saturday, November 29, 2014 with family by her side. Lucy was born in Fitchburg, the daughter of the late Antonio J. and Grazia (Cardullo) Quartarone. She was the beloved wife of 40 years to the late Albert J. Lizotte who passed away in April 1987.

After Fitchburg High Lucy worked at the Comfort Slipper Corp. where she met her future husband. When Al (Butch) returned from WWII they married in 1947. They built their comfortable little home in Lunenburg at Lake Shirley in the mid 1950s. They both worked at the Comfort over 25 years until the company moved to Puerto Rico. She and her husband then worked at the Marlboro Footwear, she as a sticher and he as a foremen/mechanic for another 25 years until their retirement. They were both animal lovers and raised prize winning beagles of different sizes. They were always together either traveling up north in New Hampshire, Maine, or their hunting lodge in Goshen Vermont sharing it with friends and family. Snowmobiling, boating, trail biking, C B ing, model airplane building and flying were some of their hobbies. She kept herself busy when Butch went deer hunting visiting with family, crocheting, crafting and enjoying her many female friends, especially Bernie Pigeon (husband, Arthur) of Shirley.

After Al died she was often seen with her sisters Mary and Josephine at the many New England fairs and Lunenburg Parades/Celebrations. Holidays, festivals and road trips with her nieces and nephews and their children were very special to her. She was a very religious woman, never without her rosary. Prayer was very important to them. He and she were always there to help family and friends.

Lucy leaves many, many nieces and nephews, great and grand to include: John J. Quartarone Jr. wife Paula and family; Rose Hare and family; Peter Ingemi wife Valery and family; Dominic J. Ingemi Jr. wife Joyce and family; Antionio Ingemi wife Leslie and family; Michael Eringi wife Rosa and family.

She also leaves her niece Gracemary Ingemi Carden and family, who Lucy relied upon as her caregiver over these many years. She also leaves her good and dear friend and Eucharist Minister Theresa Perrin of Lunenburg. We will all greatly miss Lucy’s beautiful blue twinkling eyes and generous heart.

Lucy was predeceased by sisters; Lucia Quartarone, Grace Antocci, Josephine Eringi, Mary Ingemi and brothers, Steven Quartarone, John J. Quartarone Sr. and many relatives and friends.
