Mabel Leon, born on July 7, 1949, in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, at her home in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. She was surrounded by her loved ones in her final days and departed this world with grace and serenity.
Mabel was the beloved daughter of Amado Leon and Romula Torres, both predeceased. Her life was marked by deep faith, a love for nature, and a profound devotion to those around her. A longtime member of St. Francis Parish in Fitchburg, Mabel’s spiritual strength was evident to all who knew her. Her connection with God provided comfort and guidance throughout her life and especially during her final days.
She is lovingly remembered by her Husband, Melvin Pagan; her daughter, Lily Rodriguez; and her son, Micky Rodriguez. Also her siblings Carmen, Nestor, Nydia, Lourdes and Lydia. Also, Robert and Nilda Leon who predeceased her. Mabel also held close in her heart the memory of her son Israel Rodriguez Jr., who predeceased her.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Ariel Gonzalez who she shared a special bond with, Chassity, Bebo, Cecil, Charles, Nicole, Natalie and Kam. Also her godson Yavi Colon. Mabel embraced an extended family that included stepchildren Melvin, Annie, Vivian, Mary, Wanda, and Ray along with many nieces, nephews and other godchildren.
Mabel had a deep appreciation for the natural world. She found joy in being outdoors and surrounded herself with plants and flowers that brought life into every corner of her home. Her love for animals knew no bounds—whether furry or feathered companions—and she delighted in caring for them with tenderness and affection.
Those who knew Mabel will remember not only the warmth she brought into their lives but also the strength of spirit that defined her journey. Her presence was a blessing to many within both her family circle and the wider community.
May Mabel Leon’s memory bring comfort to all who were touched by her kindness and love.
