Marie F. Blondin

Marie F. Blondin, aged 90, of Gardner, Massachusetts passed away peacefully with her children by her side on December 14, 2025. Born on July 10, 1935, in Williston, VT, Marie was one of 15 children born to Azilda and Arthur Lavallee. She is survived by her 4 children: Deborah Trudeau of Gardner, MA, Susan Laythe of New Hampshire, Mark Trudeau and his wife May of Colchester, CT, and Scott Trudeau, also of Gardner, MA. She was very blessed to have many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and leaves behind her sister and closest friend, Madeleine Marcoux, of Leominster, MA.

Marie had the opportunity to work in several different settings, among them as a legal secretary at a local law office and in Human Resources at Converse Corporate Offices, where her friendly, cheerful disposition earned her the nickname “The Sunshine Girl”.

Marie’s most treasured moments were simply spending time with her family. Some of her favorite pastimes included playing piano, dancing, singing and having jam sessions with her musically talented family. In retirement Marie also enjoyed playing cards, mastering Sudoku puzzles and working at the voting polls. She will be remembered as a loving, caring person who was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand or to offer words of wisdom.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2:00-4:30 p.m. at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, Massachusetts 01420. Her funeral Mass will be on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, Massachusetts, 01453. Following the Mass, the burial will take place at 10:45 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Florence St., Leominster, Massachusetts, 01453.
