Fitchburg – Mark D. McCue, 80, of Fitchburg, passed away at the Highlands Nursing Home on June 24, 2015.

He was born in Fitchburg on June 15, 1935, a son of the late J. Henry and Mary (Comley) McCue. Mark was a graduate of Fitchburg High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, being honorably discharged in 1957. Mark began his employment at Hedstrom Union, and later worked for Simonds Saw and Steel. From 1962 until his retirement in 1996, he worked for ITEK Optical Systems and Litton Computer Services in Lexington. Mark spent the last 20 years with this company as a Computer Supervisor. After retirement Mark stayed busy, and was always a friendly face at McCue’s Citgo. He also worked for many years in the funeral industry. For 15 years, he served as a Trustee for the Fitchburg Cemetery Commission at Forest Hill Cemetery until 2014.

Mark truly enjoyed spending time at York Beach, Maine with his family and friends. He loved nothing more than his family, especially his grandchildren. Mark was always quick with a joke and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Robert Babineau, Dr. Ebb and the staff of The Highlands for their exceptional care.

He leaves his wife Janet (Lidberg) McCue of Fitchburg; his two children, Brian McCue and his wife Marsha of Fitchburg and their children Patrick and Sean, and Maura Donovan and her husband Terrence of Westminster and their children Michael, Kelly and Gregory; many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mark was predeceased by his siblings, George, Jack, Barbara, Betty, Roseanne and Mary Lou
