Martin J. Kukkula

FITCHBURG – Martin J. Kukkula, age 58 of Fitchburg Mass passed away after a battle with ALS.

Marty was a 34-year career firefighter, earning Badge # 1 as the most senior on duty firefighter. He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters and the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts, local 3128. He also worked for many years with Sevigny Paving as well as holding other jobs throughout his life.

Marty is predeceased by his parents Edward and Doris.

He has survived by his wife, Renee Herold, his children, Kaitlin Kukkula, Brian Kukkula and his wife Brianna, Elizabeth Kukkula; his step children, Andrew Herold, Erik Herold and his wife Kirsten, Kaylyn Herold, Ryan Herold, Cody Herold, granddaughter, Victoria; brother, Edward Kukkula and his fiance Kathy; sister, Kathryn Gravel and her husband David; a niece, Kara and a nephew, David.

He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Calling hours are Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 11 am to 2 pm at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, followed by a reception at the Marconi Club in Fitchburg.

Interment will be private.
