Mary Jane Levesque Chester

Calling hours will be held from 5-8 Sunday, January 10 at the Brandon Funeral Home 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 11 with a Mass at St. Cecilia’s Church, 170 Mechanic St., Leominster at 10:00am. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, Arc Cardinals, 512 Forest St., Marlborough, MA 01752 in Mrs. Levesque’s memory.



Mary Jane (Chester) Levesque, 84, of Leominster died on Thursday January 7 at the Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Levesque celebrated her birthday on June 15, 1931. She was born in Springfield, Tennessee daughter of the late Richard and Pauline (Thweatt) Chester and had resided in Leominster for many years. She was the wife of 62 years to the late Leo J. Levesque Jr. who died in May 2012.

Mrs. Levesque leaves her children, Laura Foster and her husband Glenn of Leominster, Louisa Buja and her husband David of Hubbardston, Lisa Richard and her husband Ralph of Leominster, Leo Levesque III and his wife Marcia of Lunenburg, John Levesque and his wife Debora of Leominster, grandchildren, Thomas and Tracy Foster, Tricia Balloch, Melissa Schembri, Nathan Richard, Kayte Muse, Leo Levesque IV, Jonathan and Jeremy Levesque, great grandchildren, Whitney Love, Connor and Ashlyn Balloch, Anthony and Andrew Foster, Melody and Nathan Boulet, Chloe Moran, Jonathan Levesque Jr., Morgan Foster, Tyler Richard, Addison Muse, two great great grandchildren, Jonathan and Julian Arsenault, sister, Hilda Smith, her late brother, Raymond L. Chester and late sister Patsy and her loving pet cat, Fred.

Mrs. Levesque was employed for many years as a secretary for her husband’s company, the Leo J. Levesque Jr. Construction Company. She volunteered for many years at St. Francis Church. Jane was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans). She was proud of her husband who was the first Leominster Veteran who came back from Korea in 1951.

Mrs. Levesque enjoyed cooking using fresh vegetables from her garden. She enjoyed children, flowers, puzzles, decorating for the holidays and had a great gift for remembering dates with a penchant for birthdays. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Tennessee to visit her southern roots where she is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jane loved writing letters and sending cards to relatives and friends across the country. Her greatest joy was raising and spending time with her family. Those that knew Jane and Leo enjoyed over 35 years of Labor Day cookouts featuring their legendary hand cut french fries.
