Mary’s funeral will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Monday July 8, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernards Cemetery in Fitchburg. There are no calling hours.
Mary (Bouvier) Moeckel, 101, passed away peacefully on July 3, in the Life Care Center of Leominster.
Mary was born in Fitchburg, Ma on December 2, 1917 a daughter of the late Eugene and Margaret (Hunter) Bouvier. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1936, where she played basketball, volleyball, and field hockey. She was an avid skier and treasurer of the Montachusett Ski Club; She went on several ski trips with her husband Raymond, son Michael and nephew Jeff.
She worked as a telephone operator in Fitchburg and Ayer from 1938 to the early 1950’s. As a volunteer at Burbank Hospital for several years, she accumulated 2,437 hours, for which she revived an award. Mary was also an avid golfer.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mary is predeceased by her husband Raymond and two sons, Michael and Jimmy. She is also predeceased by her brothers, George and wife Irene, Eugene and wife Gloria, Francis and wife Josephine, Edward and wife Theresa.
