Norman W. Mezzanotti

The world lost a true beacon of courage, humor, and love when Norman W. Mezzanotti, affectionately known as "Mezzy," passed away. Born on June 17, 1939, in Fitchburg, MA, Mezzy remained a proud and devoted resident of his hometown throughout his life.

Norman was a man of humble beginnings who made a significant impact on his community. He drove trucks for the Montouri Oil Company until his retirement, but his real contributions came from his dedicated work with the American Legion. His commitment to service manifested in numerous roles, including Post Commander 429, Assistant Sargent of Arms Massachusetts, and District Commander of Worcester County for the American Legion.

Mezzy's courage was matched only by his loving nature. Family and close relationships mattered most to him. He is survived by his wife, June Mezzanotti, his son Glenn and son-in-law Edwin Machado, his daughter Donna Bisson, and his brothers Robert and Paul Mezzanotti. He was preceded in death by his parents, Italo and Mercy Mezzanotti, his sister Mary Strictland, his sister Assunta Leger, and his brothers Frank and Joseph Mezzanotti. His loving nature touched all who knew him, creating bonds that will stand the test of time.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 2 - 4 pm in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg.  A service will be held at 4 pm in the funeral home.  Burial will be private at a later date.
