Paul F. Boucher

February 2, 1964 — August 31, 2023

Fitchburg, MA

Paul Francis Boucher, known affectionately as "BooBoo" to his Market Basket co-workers and as "Animal" to his close friends, sadly left us on August 31, 2023. Born in Fitchburg, MA, on February 2, 1964, Paul's life was a testament to the power of laughter, generosity, reliability, and unwavering support.

Paul was a pillar of strength and a beacon of joy in his community, embodying a character that was equally funny and supportive. Known for his generous spirit, Paul spent his years as a meat cutter at Market Basket, always ready with a joke or a helping hand. He retired in 2017, but his legacy at Market Basket, where he was fondly known as "BooBoo," remained. Paul was an avid card player, a cherished tradition he upheld every month with his buddies. His love for the beach in Maine was well known, a favorite family destination he visited every year. A member of the South Fitchburg Social Club and the South End National Club, Paul's presence was always a cause for celebration. His culinary skills were legendary among friends, and he relished the time spent with his cousin Gary. Above everything, what mattered most to Paul was his beloved family, especially his new grandson Logan, the apple of his eye.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Janet, with whom he shared a blissful marriage since October 1, 1988. He leaves behind his loving children, Christopher and Ashley, his cherished daughter-in-law, Brooke, and his adored grandson, Logan. His supportive sister, Susan, and brother-in-law, Tim Moore, also survive him. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Lorraine Boucher.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Paul for a period of visitation on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Fitchburg, MA 01420 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:00am.

We invite those who knew and loved Paul to share memories and upload photographs on his memorial page. This is a space to remember and celebrate Paul's generous, reliable, and supportive spirit. He was a man whose laughter was contagious, and his memory will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate to know him.
