Paul Arthur Guerard

September 3, 1935 — September 6, 2025

Westminster

Paul Arthur Guerard, born September 3, 1935 in Woonsocket, RI, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025 surrounded by family at his home in Westminster, Massachusetts. Known for his sharp wit, Paul was a beacon of humor and intelligence in the lives of all who knew him. He was a smart, funny, and intelligent gentleman who never missed an opportunity to make others laugh. A proud Rhode Island native and lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, Paul grew up in Cumberland, RI. He lived and worked around the northeast, spending many years skiing in Stratton, VT, before settling in Andover, MA, and eventually retiring in Westminster, MA.

Paul was a devoted family man, treasuring his family above all else. He was married to his beloved wife, Judith Guerard, on August 23, 1969. Their love stood the test of time, and together they raised a beautiful family. He tremendously enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

A graduate from Mount Saint Charles Academy, he held degree from Our Lady of Providence University, a masters degree from Boston College School of Social Work, and post graduate licensure from Columbia University. He was a hardworking man, dedicating the majority of his career to helping others before his well-deserved retirement.

Outside of work, Paul liked to stay busy. He loved to ski and was ski racing until the age of 89. He enjoyed playing and watching baseball among other sports. His hands were rarely still, always building, working on a project, or fixing something around the house.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Judith; his children Jerome (Cynthia) Guerard, Jean-Paul (Claudia) Guerard and Lorraine (Aaron) Paplaskas; his grandchildren Selina (Chris) Lee, Justin Guerard, Zoe Guerard, Ainsley Paplaskas, Luc Guerard and Cort Paplaskas; his great-granddaughter Aspen Lee; and his sisters Jacqueline Lacoste, Jeanne Mance Dauray and Madeleine McNulty along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Anita Guerard.

Paul's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His humorous stories, intelligent conversations, and loving nature will be deeply missed by all. Please share your memories and upload photos of Paul to the memorial page at www.brandonfuneral.com to help celebrate his wonderful life.
